    Student Stories!
    Jaime Tracewell

"Being an intern over the summer at Redmond Economic Development, Inc. was the best decision I ever made. I had the opportunity to learn what a job related to government may look like, specifically as it pertains to economic development. During my internship, everyone I worked with was extremely supportive; the educational aspect of the job was very much emphasized. However, that is not to say that I was not given opportunities to learn on my own. The balance of responsibility and assistance was the perfect combination that allowed me to explore a career that could come of my interest in political science. Looking ahead, I look forward to furthering my education and finding links between my love for both government and science."

    Natalie Overbay

I am currently a student at Redmond Proficiency Academy and I am currently taking a class called Social Media & Marketing. A teacher informed me of an internship opportunity to help East Cascade Works with their social media. This position interested me because it allowed me to apply the skills that I am learning in school into the work force. I am looking forward to the future experience that I will gain and also the opportunities that I will have.

    Braden Alexander

I’m Braden Alexander and I have been accepted to two different internships via the Youth Career Connect programs and Larry Holeman. My first internship was an incredibly rewarding experience at Impact Graphix & Signs. My duties consisted of designing signs, banners, stickers, etc and printing/cutting said designs shortly thereafter. I also took up various chores around the shop for clean-up, odd jobs, and client-related tasks. Most recently, I received a position at Composite Approach, a local company that manufactures vehicles and parts out of carbon fiber and composite material. This consists of videography, photography, and posting photos, clips, and little blurbs on both our Facebook and Instagram to enhance our Internet presence and keep our clients and customers updated on what goes on around the multiple shops we run. I have very much enjoyed both opportunities and am forever grateful for the professional experience and positions in the workforce I’ve acquired through Larry’s hard work and dedication to students.

    Mia Thompson

My name is Mia Thompson and I’ve been accepted as an internship with the High Desert ESD to assist using my skills in graphic design. One of my teachers informed me of this opportunity. Instantly, I knew that this was something that I was extremely interested in. I was very lucky to have the help of Larry Holeman in this whole applying process and it all went smoothly. Up until now, I haven’t had a single job or internship experience, and as a senior in highschool, I believe that it’s exceptionally important to get this kind of life experience under your belt. As well as that, ever since a young age, I’ve always loved art, and just recently I finally made the decision that I wanted to pursue that as my career. However, there are so many different jobs involving art that I’ve been unable to completely decide on one specific field. With this internship, I can explore one of my many possibilities in life and I’m very excited for it.

    Cierra Jones

My name is Cierra Jones. I am a senior at Ridgeview High School. I am a very outgoing and confident young student in the work world. I plan on attending OSU and majoring in Biology/ Animal Science to achieve a veterinary degree for small and large animals. I landed an internship with Timothy Park Photo + Video. I am very excited for this opportunity as photography is one of my side hobbies. I hope to not only gain experience in marketing and administrative work, but also brush up on some new photography skills.
